The Chilean was signed last summer from Barcelona and has been a huge success so far in England, wowing Gunners fans with his fine performances and tireless displays.
His signing was seen as further evidence that Arsenal were willing to spend big to bring star players to the Emirates, after securing the signing of Mesut Ozil last season, with them previously having spent more frugally.
And Szczesny says the South American, who is currently away on international duty at the Copa America, has had a massive impact on everyone at the Emirates Stadium.
“I think his work rate is something different,” he said.
“He always makes a difference on the pitch because he inspires people to go and give more. He’s had a massive impact on everybody.”
As already mentioned, the 26-year-old enjoyed a superb debut campaign in the Premier League, scoring 25 times and featuring in all but four games across the season.
One of those was a wonder goal in the 4-1 FA Cup final victory over Aston Villa, a fitting end to an impressive first campaign in North London. While the forward is well known as a winger who can get past a man with ease, Szczesny says his finishing is actually one of his better attributes.
“He’s a great finisher,” he added.
“He does like to hold on to the ball for a while but when he gets a chance, you fully expect him to put it away and he’s one of the best I’ve ever come across. He’s a great player.”
