New West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has been linked with a transfer of one of Croatia's brightest talents.
Former Croatia boss Bilic would be a key figure in selling a switch to the Hammers to the teenage talent, who moved to Barcelona from Dinamo Zagreb a year ago before their transfer ban was enforced.
Now 18, he made his international debut for his country at the age of 16, and as a central midfielder he has been compared to Luka Modric, and not just owing to his physical likeness to the former Tottenham Hotspur star.
The talented youngster has been playing for Barcelona B over the past year in the Spanish second division, making 29 appearances and scoring four times, and made his debut for Barcelona's first team during their successful Copa del Rey campaign.
Before signing for the La Liga giants, Halilovic was strongly linked to both Tottenham and Arsenal, as reported The Mail, and if West Ham managed to attract him it would be a major coup for the club.
West Ham had a Barcelona midfielder on loan last season in Alex Song, whose future is yet to be determined, but the success of that deal could help pave the way for negotiations for Halilovic. The Mirror reported last week that the Champions League winners were open to letting the teenager go out on loan for the season.
