Report: Everton set to bid for former Roberto Martinez player Nouha Dicko of Wolves

The Mali international is out of contract next summer and Everton need more attackers.

Everton are looking for attacking options this summer. They seemed to lack strength in depth going forward last term and doubts remain about the future of Kevin Mirallas.

One player who is now being linked with a move to Goodison Park is Wolverhampton Wanderers star Nouha Dicko.

The Express and Star are reporting this morning that the attacker, who can play through the middle or out wide, is a target for Everton boss Roberto Martinez and that a bid is imminent.

The French-born Malian international was brought to England by Martinez when the Spaniard was in charge at Wigan Athletic, from whom he left to join Wolves in 2014.

The Everton gaffer remains a big fan of the former Strasbourg youth player and has been impressed by his progression at Molineux. Dicko has scored 27 goals in 56 league appearances for Wolves.

Wolves will of course be reluctant to let the player go. They have already lost Bakary Sako to a Bosman this summer, losing Dicko would be a real blow to their promotion hopes for next season.

However, with Dicko's contract expiring in the summer of 2016 they face a real battle to keep hold of him.
