Report: Aston Villa and Liverpool to fight it out for Luca Pellegrini of Roma

The 16-year-old is considered one of Italian football's best prospects.

AS Roma have produced some good talent in recent years and one of their current young starlets is Luca Pellegrini.

The left-sided defender is just 16-years-old but is already gaining attention from other suitors outside of Italy.

According to Gazetta dello Sport those suitors include English clubs Aston Villa and Liverpool.

It is claimed that both Villa and Liverpool are trying to sign the player on a free transfer this summer. They are joined by Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in trying to convince the player he has a better chance of regular first-team football in the future away from the Italian capital.

On the other hand Roma are desperate to keep him. They will reportedly offer him a deal until 2018 in order to convince him that he is a part of their future.

Liverpool and Villa bosses Brendan Rodgers and Tim Sherwood are both firm believers in rearing young talent and they would both like to get their hands on the Italian youth international.

Roma will have a fight on their hands if they are to fend off the interest of the Premier League duo.
