The West Ham co-owner took to Twitter after the 23-year-old was signed.
David Gold may have blundered when he first tweeted about the signing of Pedro Obiang for West Ham United on Wednesday afternoon but he soon made up for it by revealing the promise the 'excited' midfielder gave him upon signing.
Indeed, when Gold first took to social media after the club announced the signing of the 23-year-old, he accidentally tweeted a picture of Angelo Ogbonna.
A well-publicised gaffe, Gold soon replaced it with the correct picture, before going on to post more about the new West Ham man.
According to the Hammers co-owner, Obiang promised Gold he will learn to sing the club's song 'I'm forever blowing bubbles' within a month.
I've just spoke to Pedro and he sounded v excited to be here. He promised me that he'd learn to sing Bubbles in less than a month! dg— David Gold (@davidgold) June 10, 2015
The 23-year-old's arrival at Upton Park has generated plenty of excited from the West Ham faithful, with the announcement coming a day after the east London side also announced the appointment of their new manager Slaven Bilic.
This time a year ago, the Hammers were making similar moves in the transfer market. Supporters will no doubt hope this season's recruits can help West Ham sustain their success next term, instead of falling away mid-point as they did under Sam Allardyce.
