The agent of Liverpool striker Fabio Borini believes he was poorly used by Brendan Rodgers in 2014/15.
He said: "He was not given the opportunity to play last year and we are evaluating what the best project for Fabio, he wants to play.
"He is followed by many European clubs, including Italian ones. It's like having kept a lion in a cage for a year."
Borini partly has himself for his lack of use, as Liverpool attempted to sell him last summer but he dug his heels in to stay and give it a second shot having spent a season on loan at Sunderland.
Despite Brendan Rodgers knowing him well from his time coaching at Chelsea and Swansea, the manager showed little favouritism towards him despite Daniel Sturridge's persistent injuries, and Mario Balotelli nor Rickie Lambert failing to seize their chances.
Borini, 24, played in only 12 Premier League matches last season, but scored just one goal. He made a further six appearances in cup competitions but failed to add to his tally, although did provide two assists.
His days at Liverpool appear numbered with the recent addition of Danny Ings, and Divock Origi due to join up after a season on loan at Ligue 1 side Lille.
