Terry Gibson: Paul Pogba would be a gamble for Barcelona or Real Madrid

Terry Gibson believes signing Paul Pogba would be a huge gamble for either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Paul Pogba is among the hottest prospects in world football right now and it's no surprise that his name is popping up alongside reported interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Barcelona have confirmed their interest in Pogba, as per ESPN, whereas Real Madrid have denied on their official website making any approach for the French midfielder.

The former Manchester United youngster left the Premier League club on bad terms but has since turned into a world renowned talent, featuring in last Saturday's Champions League final against Barcelona. Aged 22, Pogba is also a regular for the France international side.

According to Spanish publication AS, Juventus are preparing for Pogba's departure this summer and have stuck a €100million price tag on his head.

Terry Gibson of Sky Sports believes paying that sort of fee for Pogba would represent a huge risk for the Spanish giants, but made it clear he was not criticising the player.

“I’m not criticising Pogba. I still think he’s a very, very good young player,” said Gibson on the La Liga Weekly Podcast, as per Sky Sports.

“But I still think it’s a huge gamble for Real Madrid or Barcelona to pay the huge sum of money it’s going to take to get him to leave Juventus.

“I would rather have Claudio Marchisio. Marchisio is a better player than Paul Pogba.

“He played better at the weekend and he’s done it for a longer period of time. There’s a big age difference but Pogba’s a glamour signing.”

That's quite a statement from Gibson to suggest Claudio Marchisio is a better player than Pogba. Maybe the Italian is currently, but the latter is still a hot prospect, which is scary considering the level he is already performing at. By the looks of things, the Frenchman will become a superior player to the one-club Juve man.
