Robin van Persie gives reason to why he could leave Manchester United

Former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie could leave Manchester United this summer to seek more game time in preparation for the European Championship.

Robin van Persie has once again indicated that his future could lie away from Manchester United next season as he wants game time ahead of the 2016 European Championship finals.

‘’It’s my ambition to play as many games as possible,’’ Van Persie was quoted as saying in the Mirror. ‘’I feel fitter than ever.

‘’I know that the more games I play, the more it will help me prepare for the European Championship next summer.

‘’I will take everything into consideration when I decide on my future and I know I have to be realistic about the situation.’’

Should Van Persie move on from United this summer?

The 31-year-old forward lost his place in Louis van Gaal’s side towards the end of the season and seemed to struggle for form throughout much of the campaign.

He scored just 12 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions for United and some fans have pointed to his lack of effort as the main reason behind his poor form. However, some just seem to believe he isn’t the player he once was.

A move would be a sensible decision for Van Persie as United could once again strengthen their frontline and limit his game time even more.

The Irish independent are reporting Juventus could make a £10million bid for his services, which would be a good move for all parties.

Serie A is renowned for its slow pace and has allowed some players to perform to a good standard even in their twilight years.

For example, last month, 38-year-old Italian forward Luca Toni was crowned as the division’s joint-top goalscorer following a fantastic season which saw him score 22 league goals in 38 appearances.
