AC Milan have now reportedly entered the race to sign the highly-rated French midfielder.
The Gunners were linked with a move for the midfielder by The Mirror last week, with Serie A side Inter Milan also said to be keen, and now it seems their city rivals have joined the hunt for his signature.
However, according to the website, AC have stolen a march on their rivals by sending vice-president Adriano Galliani out to France to discuss a potential move for the France international with his current employers.
It is thought that a potential move for the midfielder would not come cheap for any interested parties, with Monaco reported to have slapped a £25million price tag on his head in an effort to ward off any interest.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed an impressive campaign in Ligue 1 this season and was a star performer in Monaco’s Champions League run, playing a starring role in their victory over Arsene Wenger’s side at the last-16 stage.
The French boss is said to have monitored him for some time now, but as yet has not made a move to sign him. If he does, it seems he will be facing competition from a number of clubs, with two Italian giants principal among them.
