HITC Sport understands Leeds United have tabled a new improved contract offer to Sol Bamba as they look to keep him at the club on a permanent basis.
As revealed by HITC Sport last month, Bamba rejected Leeds' initial offer of a contract to turn his loan move from Palermo into a permanent deal.
However, Leeds have now come back with a second improved offer as they look to persuade the 30-year-old to make the move to Elland Road.
Bamba established himself as a big fans' favourite at Leeds after joining the club on loan from Palermo during last January's transfer window.
The former Leicester City defender made 19 appearances during his loan stint last season, but he caused some controversy after openly criticising Leeds owner Massimo Cellino for sacking assistant manager Steve Thompson at the back end of the season.
Despite his public outburst, Leeds remain keen on signing the powerful central defender and have tabled him an improved offer as Uwe Rosler looks to secure his signature as quickly as possible to ward off interest from other clubs.
