Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany is full of praise for former Celtic loanee Jason Denayer.

Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has taken to social networking site Twitter to sing the praises of Belgium international teammate Jason Denayer.

Denayer made his first senior start for the Belgium national team on Sunday, when he lined up against France at the Stade de France in a friendly international.

Marc Wilmots’s side won the game 4-3, with the former Celtic loanee giving a good account of himself.

City star Kompany was impressed with the performance of the 19-year-old centre-back and made the following comment about him on Twitter:

Denayer was in good form for Celtic in the recently concluded 2014-15 season, making 44 appearances in all competitions for the Bhoys.

The teenager played an important role in the Hoops winning the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish League Cup in Ronny Deila’s first season in charge of the Glasgow giants.

It remains to be seen what Denayer’s parent club City decide this summer. It is unlikely that the Belgian will be sent back to Celtic on loan for the 2015-16 campaign.
