Rangers chairman Dave King has told The Scottish Sun that in three years’ time the club will be challenging Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.
The Glasgow giants reached the Premiership playoff final after finishing third in the ‘regular’ Championship season in 2014-15.
However, Rangers lost the final 6-1 on aggregate to Motherwell and will have to relaunch their challenge for promotion next season.
The way the Gers collapsed against Motherwell showed just how much they need to improve, but King believes that things will change in the next three years.
“I see us playing in Europe and challenging Celtic for the title,” the 60-year-old told The Scottish Sun when asked where he sees Rangers in three years’ time.
It is a bold comment from King, but there is a good chance that his ‘prediction’ about Rangers will come true.
The key to achieving that dream is to get promoted to the Scottish Premiership at the end of the 2015-16 season.
After that, Rangers can make changes to their squad and make the team more competitive.
