Arsenal media round-up: Alexis Sanchez plays down reports of confrontation

A round up of news stories this morning related to Arsenal.

Alexis Sanchez has been quoted by playing down a confrontation with a Chilean teammate while away on international duty.

The winger is reported to have fallen out with teammate Marcelo Diaz but has played down claims.

The issue is reportedly to do with Sanchez taking a free kick ahead of Diaz, Chile’s dead ball specialist, in a recent match.

“It was an exchange of opinions, like [the media] loves, it's normal. Everything's sorted, there's no fight and we are all calm,” he said.

German striker Lukas Podolski has been quoted by FourFourTwo revealing his belief that he thinks he can still help Arsenal.

The popular forward spent time on loan away from the club last season, featuring for Inter Milan under Roberto Mancini.

However, he didn’t do enough to earn a permanent move to Italy and is now due back in London for pre-season.

“Things can always change, but if needs be I will remain at Arsenal next season. They are a great club and I think I can help them,” he said.

The Daily Star claims Arsenal have been given a boost over their interest in Carlos Bacca of Sevilla.

The highly rated forward is reported as a key transfer target for the club by the daily newspaper, with the Gunners apparently invited to make a big offer for the player.

The paper suggests that a fee in excess of the £20 million mark would be enough for Arsenal to get their man.
