Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer asked a simple question to Harry Redknapp on social networking site Twitter on Monday.
Would he take the Newcastle job?
Shearer was just having some fun on Twitter, but the Newcastle fans took it seriously. Following the former England international striker’s tweet, there were a number of replies, the best of which are below.
Calm down guys I only asked him if he fancied it! Not my job to offer!— Alan Shearer (@alanshearer) June 8, 2015

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Redknapp is currently without a managerial job after stepping down from his position at Queens Park Rangers midway through the 2014-15 season.
The Englishman is one of the most respected managers in football, having been in charge of West Ham United, Southampton and Tottenham among others in his career.
Even at 68, Redknapp remains as passionate as ever about football, and he is also open to returning to management.
However, the Newcastle job is not for Redknapp. The Magpies need someone younger who can take the team to the next level.
