Barcelona star Pedro Rodriguez has been snapped shaking hands with president Josep Maria Bartomeu in the club’s offices on Monday afternoon after agreeing a new contract extension.
The Spanish international’s future has been of much speculation over the past months after a experiencing a campaign of rather limited first-team playing opportunities.
While the Gunners in particular have heavy competition in their attacking ranks, Spurs and Liverpool in contrast are crying out for a boost of quality upfront and Pedro would have been a superb addition.
However, in spite of what has been mentioned in the press Pedro happily opted to remain at the Nou Camp, pictured above signing an extension until 2019 as per the Barcelona official website.
With a buyout clause of €150 million, it’s evident how much the Catalans rate Pedro as a key member of the first-team squad and it’s difficult to see them selling him for anything other than silly money.
While the 27-year-old started 15 La Liga games last season, and his ultimate contribution of the campaign was to assist Neymar in scoring Barca’s third goal in the 3-1 Champions League final win over Juventus.
