Former Queens Park Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jay Bothroyd suggests that Mateo Kovacic would be a good signing for Liverpool.

Former Queens Park Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jay Bothroyd has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Liverpool should move for Mateo Kovacic this summer.

Kovacic is currently on the books of Italian giants Inter Milan and is considered as one of the best young players in Serie A.

The 21-year-old midfielder is reportedly on the radar of Liverpool, with The Mirror reporting at the weekend that personal terms have been agreed between the Merseyside outfit and the youngster.

Bothroyd has suggested on Twitter that the Croatia international would be a good addition to the Liverpool squad.

Kovacic is an excellent young player and has huge potential, but Liverpool need better players than him at this moment in time.

The Merseyside outfit will be aiming for a top-four finish in the Premier League in the 2015-16 campaign, and the former Dinamo Zagreb star is unlikely to be of much help.
