Ex-West Ham and Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp joins Twitter

'Football manager, pundit and lover of sport' is how Harry Redknapp describes himself on social network Twitter.

Can you imagine the scene? Harry Redknapp driving up towards the Sky Sports News camera on transfer deadline day, car window down with a smartphone in his hand as he shares top ITK material across Twitter.

That may soon become reality as Redknapp has officially joined Twitter under the very original username @Redknapp on Monday, 8 June 2015. It's a date for your history books.

Harry, being the Harry we know, began life on Twitter casually by simply tweeting "let's see what this is all about then." His initial tweet sprung the realisation that Redknapp ought to be careful with the grammar police out in force.

Thus far, the 68-year-old follows a mixture of journalists, pundits and footballers he previously managed. It's both interesting and humorous to see an old fashioned manager join the world of social media, but Redknapp is one that always has something to say. That noted, he should adapt to cyberspace like a fish in water.

We are in for a real treat if he is anywhere near as outspoken as he is when writing for The Sun.

Having managed Bournemouth, West Ham United, Portsmouth, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers, Redknapp should clock up quite a large number of followers in the coming hours.
