Arsenal media round-up: Boost for Gunners in Gundogan race

A round up of news stories this morning related to Arsenal.

The Daily Star has reported that Arsenal have received a boost in the race to sign German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

The paper is claiming that the German player’s wage demands are too high for Barcelona, tipped with signing him from Borussia Dortmund.

However, the Gunners could face a battle to sign him with Manchester United also thought to be interested.

The Daily Star has covered the rumour that Arsenal are one of the sides reportedly interested in a move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The paper claims that the Gunners are one of the teams taking a look at the Swedish striker, with Paris Saint-Germain apparently ready to sell him.

Ibrahimovic infamously told Arsene Wenger that he wasn’t prepared to go through the routine of a trial when he was younger.

The Daily Mail has reported that Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain used his absence from the latest England squad to go and soak up the sunshine on holiday.

The Ox struggled for injuries last season, missing out on Roy Hodgson’s latest round of squad call-ups for international action.

England looked flat as they shared a 0-0 draw with the Republic of Ireland yesterday.
