AS Monaco are interested in signing Kevin Mirallas from Everton in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.
“There are promises broken and it makes for a somewhat awkward relationship with the coach (Roberto Martinez),” The Liverpool Echo quoted Mirallas as saying. “Soon, I will have a conversation with him.
“I have had a beautiful three years with Everton. I have experienced many great moments and for that I must thank the club. I don’t know whether I will leave, it is a decision I have to make in consultation with my family.”
It has now been reported by The Daily Mail that Ligue 1 outfit Monaco have “expressed an interest” in the 27-year-old.
Monaco finished third in the recently concluded 2014-15 Ligue 1 campaign and stand a chance of featuring in the Champions League proper next season.
The reported interest of Leonardo Jardim’s side in Mirallas will come as a blow to Tottenham Hotspur, who have also been linked with the Everton star.
Tottenham failed to finish in the top four of the Premier League in the 2014-15 campaign and will not feature in the Champions League next season.
Monaco are not guaranteed a place in the group stage of Europe’s premier club competition as they will have to feature in qualifiers, but at least they have a chance.
According to The Daily Mail, Mirallas “has made it clear he is prepared to leave for Champions League football”, which means Tottenham could miss out if Monaco make an offer.
