Liverpool and Everton are both interested in signing full-back Yarouba Cissako, report French newspaper L'Equipe.
Cissako (pictured above battling Arsenal's Serge Gnabry), plays for AS Monaco and spent last season on loan with Belgian side Zulte-Waregem.
The report claims the Merseyside clubs face competition from German giants Borussia Dortmund, who are also monitoring the 20-year-old.
Cissako plays at right-back, and provided seven assists in 25 games while on loan in Belgium last season.
He is a French youth international but also eligible to play senior international football for Senegal, and said by L'Equipe to be in talks with Monaco about extending his current contract which expires in 2016. Liverpool, Everton and Dortmund are described as keeping an eye on developments.
Liverpool are set to lose Glen Johnson this summer at right-back on a free transfer, but have cover in the form of Andre Wisdom, Jon Flanagan and Javier Manquillo.
Cissako is an unproven prospect who at Everton would purely be cover for Seamus Coleman, but a player who could become a star of the future, and at the right price may be worth a gamble if there is a hitch in his contract talks with Monaco.
