Report: Liverpool agree deal with Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic

The Croatian star has apparently already agreed personal terms, but a transfer between the clubs is far from being concluded.

Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, according to Croatian newspaper Vercernji List.

The highly-rated Croatian midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks, as Brendan Rodgers looks to add quality to his side after a disappointing campaign.

And according to the newspaper, Kovacic is so confident a deal can be struck between the two sides that he has already agreed the finer details of any potential contract.

Unfortunately for him however, a deal between the two clubs remains far from being concluded.

The Italians would not be keen on selling one of their prized assets unless it is financially worth it, with the paper claiming it could cost the Reds as much as €25 million - around £18milllion.

It is thought that Rodgers will do, and pay, anything to secure the 21-year-old, meaning Inter could potentially ramp up his price and make it a much more lucrative sale.

It would also create an interesting battle in the Liverpool midfield after they secured James Milner on a free transfer from Manchester City. Perhaps he may be featuring on the wing for his side more often than anticipated should a move for Kovacic be completed.
