Report: Crystal Palace to bid £15m for Blackburn Rovers’ Jordan Rhodes

Blackburn's Jordan Rhodes has been linked with Crystal Palace, West Ham, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, Derby County, Everton, Middlesbrough, QPR and Hull.

Crystal Palace will make a bid of £15 million for Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported by the British newspaper that Rhodes is “one of several targets” for Premier League outfit Palace.

Manager Alan Pardew wants to sign as many as four players in the summer transfer window, according to the report.

Rhodes is one of the best players in the Championship and was in superb form for Blackburn in the recently concluded 2014-15 season.

The 25-year-old Scotland international scored 21 goals and created 38 chances in 45 league appearances.

The former Huddersfield Town star had a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 45%, and won 70 headers, nine dribbles and 12 tackles.

Palace, though, will have to face stiff competition to sign Rhodes from Blackburn, as there are a number of other clubs interested in the striker.

Premier League duo West Ham United and Everton want to sign the former Ipswich Town man, according to London24.com.

London 24.com also claim that Middlesbrough will make a £10m bid for Rhodes, who is reportedly being targeted by Queens Park Rangers, Newcastle United and Hull City as well.

The news will come as a blow to Championship duo Derby County and Nottingham Forest, who have both been credited with an interest in Rhodes in the past.

The Daily Mail reported back in April that both Derby and Forest are keen on the striker, but they do not have the financial resources to match the £10m and £15m bids that are being reported at the moment.
