Manchester United fans react on Twitter to Pogba's performance against Barcelona

Old Trafford

Former Manchester United player Paul Pogba did his best to inspire Juventus to victory against Barcelona but he could not manage it.

Manchester United may not have been involved in this weekend’s Champions League final, but their fans are likely to have been paying close attention to proceedings given the number of former players on show.

Ex-United defender Gerard Pique was the one smiling at the final whistle as his Barcelona side overcame Juventus 3-1, but there were also some former Old Trafford favourites on show for the Italians in the form of Patrice Evra and Carlos Tevez.

And then of course there was a young player who never really got a chance in England – Paul Pogba.

The French midfielder was rarely used by former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, deemed too young when he soon proved to be anything but after moving to Turin.

He ultimately moved on despite United’s desire to keep him and he quickly became a regular for the Serie A giants, featuring 129 times for them to date, scoring 24 goals and providing 27 assists in that time.

Pogba is now one of the best players in his position in Europe and while his side lost Saturday’s final the 22-year-old still showed glimpses of his supreme talent.

After the match we took to Twitter to see what United fans thought of Pogba’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
