HITC Sport understands Preston North End defender Scott Laird has turned down a new deal at the club.
HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club that Preston North End defender Scott Laird has rejected the offer of a new deal at Deepdale.
Laird is out of contract at Preston this summer and manager Simon Grayson is keen to keep hold of him.
However, the full-back has rejected the club's initial offer to extend his contract and the news of his possible availability has alerted a number of Championship and League One clubs.
Laird has established himself as a key player in the Preston side since arriving from Stevenage in 2012.
The 27-year-old played a key role in helping Preston win promotion to the Championship this season, beating Swindon Town in the play-off final at Wembley.
Preston would be reluctant to lose Laird as they have already lost fellow left-back David Buchanan to Northampton Town this summer and they will be hoping to keep Laird as they prepare for life back in the second tier of English football.
