The Spaniard joined the club last summer but spent 2014-15 at Deportivo La Coruna.
However, there was a twist. The move, reported by Inside Spanish Football to be for a fee in the region of £1.5 million, would not come into play until this summer. He went out on loan to Deportivo La Coruna instead of playing the 2014-15 Championship season with Watford.
Now the summer has rolled around and he is set to join up with Watford on the 1st of July. However, he does not want that.
Juanfran, who has never kicked a ball for Watford, now looks set to head to Italy this summer. It is reported by Estadio Deportivo that he will head to Fiorentina, perhaps as a straight replacement for Manchester City's Micah Richards.
It is an odd move from Watford's point of view. Juanfran is highly talented and with a new Spanish boss at the helm he might have been given a chance to shine.
Instead, Watford are set to let him join up with La Viola and continue his football in Serie A.
