It has been reported that the Premier League outfit sent scouts to watch the defender in action during Saturday’s Champions League final between Juventus and Barcelona at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
Centre-back Ogbonna has been on the books of Italian champions Juventus since 2013 and has a contract which runs until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
“Ogbonna has made 18 starts for Juventus this season and, with defensive reinforcements needed, Premier League duo Liverpool and West Ham have been monitoring his situation closely despite the fact he has three years left to run on his contract,” report ESPN.
It has also been reported that West Ham are “long-term admirers” of the former Torino star, and that the London outfit are “ready to make a move if he becomes available this summer”.
Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Ogbonna in the summer transfer window as well.
Tuttosport reported back in April that the North London outfit are interested in the Italy international centre-back.
However, the situation may now have changed with Tottenham, as they have already recruited Kevin Wimmer from FC Koln.
