Report: Derby County interested in Swansea City’s Jazz Richards

Swansea City defender Jazz Richards is reportedly being targeted by Championship clubs Derby County, Queens Park Rangers and Fulham.

Derby County are interested in signing Jazz Richards from Swansea City in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

The Championship club are looking for a defender for next season, and it has been reported by the British tabloid that they have an eye on Wales international Richards.

The 24-year-old is essentially a right-back, but he can also play as a left-back and as a midfielder; his versatility will be a boon to Derby.

However, the Rams face competition from Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers and Fulham for the signature of Richards, who is rated at £500,000, according to The Sun.

“Relegated QPR head Championship rivals Derby and Fulham in a three-way chase to land the Wales defender,” states the report.

Richards has fallen down the pecking order at Premier League outfit Swansea and was sent out on loan to Fulham in the January transfer window.

The Welshman seems to be behind Kyle Naughton and Angel Rangel in Garry Monk's first-team plans for next season and has one more year remaining on his current contract at the Welsh club.
