Jurgen Klinsmann's side secured a 4-3 win over the Netherlands in Amsterdam after overturning a two-goal deficit with three strikes in the final 20 minutes.

Tottenham Hotspur’s DeAndre Yedlin and his USA teammates could be forgiven for getting carried away with their celebrations on Friday night after securing a dramatic 4-3 friendly win over the Netherlands in Amsterdam.

Jurgen Klinmann’s side, who were without key men Jozy Altidore, Alejandro Bedoya, Clint Dempsey and Jermaine Jones, came back from 3-1 down to beat the Dutch for the first time ever with three goals in the final 20 minutes.

After squandering a few chances to open the scoring, the USA went 1-0 down in the 27th-minute when Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar capitalised on some poor defender to head home Manchester United-bound Memphis Depay’s cross.

LA Galaxy ace Gyasi Zardes found an equaliser just six minutes later when he finished Fabian Johnson’s pinpoint ball for his first international goal, but the Dutch restored their lead four minutes into the second-half after Huntelaar nodded in his second.

The hat-trick-seeking forward then had a big role in his side’s third goal on 52 minutes, as he fired in a shot which glanced off Depay and into the net to leave the US reeling at that point.

However, following four quick changes, the US set the comeback in motion in the 70th-minute, when captain Michael Bradley played a defence-splitting pass into the box for substitute Yedlin to collect and cross into John Brooks for an easy goal.

Reading midfielder Danny Williams then pulled the visitors level one minute before stoppage-time with a powerful shot from outside the box which deflected past Jasper Cillessen into the net, but that was not the end of the drama.

A minute later, the influential Bradley played Stanford sophomore Jordan Morris down the right of the opposition area, where he crossed for fellow front man Bobby Wood to complete a dramatic and unexpected victory.

On a night when the likes of Yedlin had every reason to salute to success in Emmanuel Adebayor-like fashion, here are some of the other images snapped.
