The Celtic faithful were unimpressed by the 23-year-old's comments after leaving the club.
So John Guidetti has outlined his reasons for choosing not to stay with Celtic this summer.
The young Swede was on loan with the Bhoys last season, at first shining with the Scottish champions, before underwhelming and quickly falling out of the first-team picture at Parkhead. And, as a free agent ahead of next term, Guidetti did not end up making his loan move at Celtic permanent.
But many Hoops fans have taken to Twitter in response to Guidetti's comments, poking numerous holes in his theory.
Do the striker's comments really make sense when Henrik Larsson played for Sweden all the time while at Celtic? And, if the Scottish Premiership is so little in stature, why didn't the forward score more goals during his time there?
Indeed, after acquiring fan-favourite status rather quickly at Parkhead, Guidetti has left on a sour note - and many Celtic fans are having none of it, accusing him of being 'spoilt' and hitting back at his parting shots...

Guidetti isn't a big enough play to fit a Celtic kit anyway. Hail hail good luck playing for a bigger club mate— Detroit CSC (@DetroitCSC) June 5, 2015
Guidetti interview goals in Scotland don't matter! I remember another Swede winning the golden boot here! But then he had class not an ego— Michael Brady (@Mic1980Brady) June 5, 2015
In 5 years from now Guidetti will look back and regret being a spoilt brat at the best club in the world under Super Ronny! #Celticfc— Ronny Roars (@MickMcDowel) June 5, 2015
Proper clown guidetti. Eight goals aren't worth much anywhere mate #celtic— Pádraig McGarrigle (@PaddyMcGarrigle) June 5, 2015
Problem with Guidetti is when he started scoring goals he become full of himself. Was thinking of cashing in on a fat contract. #Celtic— Andreas K (@K1ingK1ong) June 5, 2015
