Aston Villa linked striker Florin Andone scores two goals in 5-0 win on international 'debut'

Romania

The Romanian played in an unofficial friendly in Bucharest.

In April it was reported by the Daily Mail that Aston Villa were keen on the Romanian striker Florin Andone.

The report claimed that Villa were keen on the 22-year-old to add some attacking verve to their ranks this summer.

Andone has played this season with Cordoba in La Liga - who have struggled for form. He has however impressed, scoring six goals in 22 appearances.

The Romanian finisher, who moved to Spain as a boy, has previously played for Villarreal and recently earned a call-up to the Romanian national team because of his good form.

He is in the Romania squad for an upcoming fixture with Northern Ireland. That is their only game this month, with a marquee friendly not available for them. With that in mind they played what was called an 'exhibition match' against Metaloglobus Bucharest. They play in the third tier of Romanian football and didn't offer much opposition for Tricolorii.

It was however the first time Andone played for the senior team, although not an officially sanctioned fixture. He also found the back of the net twice. He scored the opener and then added the third in a comfortable 5-0 win.

He will now hope to get a start and hopefully a goal against Northern Ireland next Saturday.
