Earlier this week, Spanish full-back Juanfran Moreno, who can also operate as a wing-back or a winger, expressed his preference to stay with Deportivo La Coruña, having spent the 2014-15 season with the Galician side, on loan from Watford.
Whilst he seemed to indicate a desire to make his move to Deportivo a permanent one, there has now been another twist to the story, which indicates his future may lie elsewhere.
At a press call on Thursday, via La Voz de Galicia, technical director Ernesto Bello declared that Juanfran signing for Deportivo is now "completely discarded, because an important team has already signed him."
Although at first glance, that might have indicated the 26-year-old former Real Betis player will finally head to Vicarage Road, the next comments from Bello underlined that's not going to happen.
When asked if Juanfran will now join up with The Hornets, Bello made it completely clear: "He won't be playing for Watford."
Reading into the comments, whilst as yet there have been no revelations as to who Juanfran may have signed for, use of the words 'important club' by the Deportivo technical director, would suggest the player is headed to a side playing in European competition.
During his spell with Deportivo, Juanfran scored one goal and provided one assist, during his 34 appearances in La Liga, as the side narrowly avoided relegation on the final day of the season.
