Rumoured Manchester United target Felipe Anderson rules out move

The Lazio winger is one of Europe's hottest properties but won't be leaving Lazio any time soon.

Rumoured Manchester United target Felipe Anderson has ruled out a move from Lazio, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has enjoyed a blistering season for the Italian side, scoring 11 goals in all competitions as well as registering seven assists, a healthy record for a left-winger.

He is widely regarded as one of the hottest properties in European football, and according to reports back in March, Manchester United were looking to splash the cash for him, withGazzetta dello Sport suggesting they would spend as much as €50million, or £36.7million, to sign him.

He, however, went on to sign a new contract, which keeps him at the Serie A side until 2020, and has now rubbished any talk of a potential move.

“I am only focused on Lazio, I do not think about anything else,” he said.

“I recently renewed my contract for another five years. I know nothing of the proposals because, to me, my future is at Lazio.”

The news will hardly come as a blow to United, though, given that they have already secured the signing of another of Europe’s top talents, with Memphis Depay set to join from Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven.

Any move for the Lazio man was always going to be a costly one as well, and while funds don’t seem to be particularly tight at Old Trafford, it could be argued that the money could be better spent on other areas.
