Ronald De Boer says brother Frank will not be joining Newcastle United or West Ham this summer

The Dutch legend is set to remain Ajax boss for at least one more season.

Newcastle United and West Ham United are looking for new managers this summer. John Carver is not set to get the full-time role at St James Park, whilst Sam Allardyce left West Ham at the end of the season.

One name who is being consistently linked with a move to the Premier League is Ajax manager Frank De Boer.

His link with Newcastle United is age old but it was also reported by Sky Sports earlier this week that West Ham were talking to De Boer about the job at Upton Park.

His brother has now sought to put an end to these discussions and rumours. Ronald De Boer, a former Glasgow Rangers player, has informed talkSPORT this morning that his brother is staying at Ajax for at least one more year:

“Frank has decided to stay at Ajax for at least another year. He’s said to his manager he doesn’t want to take any calls for another year.

“After that, everyone can call him. He will stay at Ajax for another season for sure.”

De Boer failed to guide Ajax to the Eredivisie for the first time last season, with PSV Eindhoven taking the gong instead. It seems that he will want to win back the title before heading off to ventures abroad.

West Ham continue to be linked with former Besiktas manager Slaven Bilic and Sevilla's Unai Emery whilst Newcastle are believed to be keen on recently sacked Derby County manager Steve McClaren.
