The Liverpool boss's future could be in doubt, according to the ex-Reds defender.
Former Liverpool defender Jim Beglin has expressed his view on Twitter that Brendan Rodgers must be thinking of resigning after reports of two of his backroom staff being dismissed by owners Fenway Sports Group.
If FSG have dictated the fate of Pascoe & Marsh which is likely, Brendan must be contemplating resignation as a show of loyalty to his men.— Jim Beglin (@jimbeglin) June 5, 2015
Or could there be another way of looking at FSG's latest moves?
According to many reports, Rodgers' position at Liverpool is safe and he certainly hasn't been sacked at this point.
Could the club's owners, then, simply be looking to blame someone without paying the compensation that would go with firing their manager?
Another way of interpreting Rodgers' anticipated job security at Anfield, meanwhile, is that he talked his way out of trouble at the end-of-season review. And maybe he wasn't too loyal to Marsh and Pascoe. Maybe he tried to pin the blame for Liverpool's poor season on them...?
Either way, the Reds don't look like fixing their problems and returning to the top four anytime soon - that's for sure.
