Five Spurs stars who badly disappointed during 2014/15

There were enough disappointing Tottenham Hotspur performers to fill a whole XI - but here are their top five...

Tottenham's biggest disappointment by far, Younes Kaboul started last season as the club's captain and ended it having gone months without a game.

The Frenchman delivered one standout performance at Arsenal but seemed to vanish for the rest of the campaign. He was poor in all departments and even broke into an argument with Jan Vertonghen during an FA Cup clash against Burnley (above).

The Tottenham winger has come in for endless criticism over the past year but it is all justified. Andros Townsend has simply become far too predictable and, after months and months, is either unwilling to or completely incapable of addressing that major flaw in his game.

It will be a huge surprise if the north London side don't try to offload the 23-year-old this summer.

It's easy to feel sorry for Roberto Soldado, as the Spaniard does offer plenty of heart and work rate. It just hasn't worked out for the big-money striker at Spurs, however, and doesn't look as though that will change considering the fact his second term at White Hart Lane was even worse than the first.

The Romanian has been simply woeful and was sent off after a disastrous performance at Stoke City not too long ago - something that seemed to sum up his Tottenham career to date.

Vlad Chiriches has proven to be way off the pace both at centre-back and full-back and 2014//15 was a season to forget for him.

A Mauricio Pochettino favourite, the 25-year-old's form has tailed off worryingly over the last few months. Argentine boss Pochettino has often been criticised for not changing his preferred starting line-up and Kyle Walker is a case in point.

The right-back's season has, of course, been disrupted by injuries. But many Spurs fans have aired their grievances with the full-back's displays even when he's been fully fit.
