Derby County manager Paul Clement wants to sign Leeds United target Alex Pearce and Aston Villa duo Darren Bent and Andreas Weimann.

Derby County head coach Paul Clement has told The Derby Telegraph that he is interested in signing Alex Pearce in the summer transfer window.

Peace is on the books of Championship rivals Reading at the moment, but his current contract with the Royals runs out at the end of the month.

Leeds United are also looking to snap up Pearce on a free transfer, according to a report in The Sun from last month.

Clement, who was appointed the Derby boss earlier this month following the dismissal of Steve McClaren at the end of the 2014-15 season, has also revealed that he wants to sign Darren Bent on a permanent contract.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Bent joined the Rams on loan from Premier League outfit Aston Villa in the January transfer window.

The 31-year-old Englishman gave a good account of himself at the iPro Stadium, scoring 10 goals and creating 12 chances in 15 Championship appearances.

Bent is now back at his parent club Villa, where his current contract runs out at the end of the month - which means that Derby will be able to sign him on a free transfer.

Former Real Madrid first-team coach Clement has also revealed that he wants to recruit Andreas Weimann from Villa.

The 23-year-old Austria international attacker has a year left on his current contract with the Villans.

“All those three are possibilities but no more than that at this stage,” Clement told The Derby Telegraph when asked about the trio.
