Alfred Mugabo, once tipped for stardom by Jack Wilshere, is now playing in the Camden Sunday League

The former Arsenal youngster is also a Rwandan international.

A year ago Arsenal released midfield talent Alfred Mugabo from his contract at the club. The local lad had been one of the more impressive figures in the club's youth team but failed to make the grade at the club.

In the end he went out on trial to Sheffield Wednesday before his contract was rescinded.

He of course made headlines whilst at the club for all the right reasons. In April 2013 Arsenal first-teamer Jack Wilshere was tipping him for big things in the game via his official Twitter feed.

A few months later he got his first international call-up. He was called up for international duty with Rwanda and made his debut against Algeria. That was in June 2013 and he has not played for his country since.

So where is this immensely talented midfielder now plying his trade. A player with his qualities should at least be playing in the lower leagues but he is not currently playing professional football.

Mugabo is currently playing in the Camden Sunday League for Badu FC. He has been a star for the team this season, scoring and assisting many goals, as Badu completed a league and cup double.

We doubt there are many players in that league who have played international football and been tipped for future stardom by Jack Wilshere so who knows? Perhaps the former Arsenal youngster still has a future in the professional game.
