Werder Bremen are not interested in signing Lukas Podolski from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Werder Bremen general manager Thomas Eichin has been quoted as saying by Sky Sports that the club are not interested in signing Lukas Podolski from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

"Lukas Podolski is a great footballer, I like him,” Sky Sports quotes Eichin as saying. “But we do not need to discuss such rumours. It is totally unrealistic for us to make a move for him.”

Podolski has been on the books of Arsenal since 2012, but he does not seem to have a future at the North London club.

The Germany international struggled for playing time in the first half of the recently concluded 2014-15 Premier League campaign, and moved to Italian club Inter Milan on loan in the January transfer window.

During his time at Inter, Podolski scored one goal and created 15 chances in 17 Serie A appearances.

The 30-year-old had a pass accuracy of 88% and a shot accuracy of 36%, and he won eight headers, 11 dribbles and three tackles.

Podolski’s current contract at Arsenal runs until June 2016, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, but one should not be surprised if Arsenal sell him this summer.
