Tottenham Hotspur set for summer reunion with Gareth Bale's Real Madrid

The Welsh winger could line up against his former Premier League employers with Real Madrid and Tottenham both competing in the Audi Cup in Munich.

Gareth Bale could be in line for an emotional reunion with Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The 25-year-old scored 55 goals in 203 games for the Lilywhites before sealing a move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.

Bale enjoyed a debut season to remember at Madrid, netting 22 goals in 44 outings, including a decisive header for Real in the Champions League final.

But after a season in which the ex-Spurs star has come in for criticism from some Los Blancos fans, he could well be looking forward to the rapturous response Tottenham fans are more than likely to give him at the Allianz Arena.

In a friendly tournament organised by Bayern Munich, the Bavarians will face off against Real Madrid, Tottenham and AC Milan, it has been revealed on the club's official website.

The competition will also serve as the perfect warm-up for new Madrid manager Rafael Benitez.

Unveiled as Galacticos coach this week, the ex-Liverpool and Valencia boss will be hoping his team can impress against Tottenham and their German and Italian opponents.

Bale, meanwhile, will be keen to get on the score sheet against his former club and convince Benitez of his worth in the process.
