Tottenham Hotspur fans debate the future of Benjamin Stambouli

White Hart Lane 5

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Benjamin Stambouli continues to be linked with a White Hart Lane exit.

There have been plenty of different reports over the course of the week, with different messages over the future of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Benjamin Stambouli.

The latest from Sky Sports suggests Tottenham Hotspur are willing to listen to offers for the player, with the Daily Mail reporting that Spurs have already turned down the chance to sell him to French giants Marseille.

The club’s manager Mauricio Pochettino has a difficult decision to make if he’s not completely set on selling the player, who hasn’t really been given a chance to show what he can do since he moved to White Hart Lane from Montpellier.

Unfortunately for him, central midfield is one of the stronger areas of Tottenham’s current squad, where he’ll have to work hard to displace the current first choice options Pochettino has been using.

However, if he pushes for a move away from the club, he can’t be blamed because at 24-years-old, he’ll want to be playing regularly and making a name for himself.

Here’s what fans have said over Stambouli’s future, based on comments from reports across HITC.

UK4football: I think he should be kept for another season. He hasn't looked too bad in the games he's played - a bit slow but seems good positionally (in my opinion at least) and could come in handy for tactical changes

Arthur James: I think he should stay a Spurs, especially if Bentlaheb is being difficult

E17ender: He comes near the end of my queue of players to leave Spurs

Bob: Benteleb over stambouli as he is younger, better on the ball, quicker, a better leader and given time could become our best player - Stambouli is no way near bentelebs ability

C.O.Y.S: Poch is clueless that's the problem, Dembele should play in front of the back 4 with Stambouli to give some stability back there, both are stronger than Benteleb and Mason
