Dick Advocaat

Former Rangers manager Dick Advocaat will be in charge of Premier League outfit Sunderland next season.

Sunderland fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the club appointing Dick Advocaat as their new manager.

The Premier League outfit announced on their official website earlier today that the Dutchman has signed a one-year deal and will be in charge of the first team for the 2014-15 season.

Advocaat was appointed the Sunderland boss in mid-March following the dismissal of Gus Poyet.

The task of the former Rangers and Netherlands boss was to keep the Black Cats in the Premier League, and he did just that.

Although Sunderland offered him the chance to remain their head coach, Advocaat declined due to family reasons.

The 67-year-old has now gone back on his original decision, and it has been confirmed that he will be in charge of the Black Cats next season.

Following the announcement of Advocaat’s appointment, Sunderland fans took to social networking site Twitter to have their say.
