Report: West Ham target’s lawyer meets with his current club’s president

West Ham

West Ham United are reportedly interested in appointing Unai Emery as their new manager.

Sevilla president Jose Castro met with Unai Emery’s lawyer on Wednesday night to discuss a new deal, according to Gianlucadimarzio.com.

It has been reported that the Spanish club want Emery to remain their head coach amid interest from Premier League outfit West Ham United and Serie A club Napoli.

The Europa League winners are willing to increase the Spaniard’s salary for the next two seasons in order to retain his services and fend off interests from abroad.

The latest development will come as a blow to West Ham, who are keen on securing the services of the former Valencia coach, according to The Independent.

The fact that Sevilla will play in the Champions League next season is also going to be a factor when Emery makes his final decision.

West Ham are an ambitious club, but they are unlikely to break into the top four of the Premier League anytime soon.

Having won the Europa League twice in a row with Sevilla, Emery will now want to play in the Champions League.
