Report: Gignac could snub West Brom if Bielsa joins West Ham

The Frenchman has been linked both with a move to West Brom and West Ham. One factor could tip the scales...

Andre-Pierre Gignac could join West Ham United this summer if Marcelo Bielsa is appointed the east London side's new manager, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Hammers are looking for a new boss after not renewing Sam Allardyce's contract at the end of last season and a number of coaches have been linked. Marseille boss Bielsa is one of them and Gignac would be tempted by the prospect of linking up with him again at West Ham, the Mirror claim.

The 29-year-old is now a free agent after seeing his contract with Marseille expire and has reportedly already been the subject of a 'huge offer' from West Brom. Bielsa, though, could tip the scales for Gignac when it comes to turning West Brom down in favour of a move to Upton Park.

Southampton, Stoke City and Newcastle United are also touted as contenders for the Frenchman's signature but it is the Baggies and West Ham that are seen as the favourites.

Just another factor for David Gold and David Sullivan to consider in their search for a new manager, then, and something that might just make West Brom fans a little more interested in who they appoint.
