HITC Sport understands from sources close to the player that two Premier League clubs are interested in signing Benfica goalkeeper Artur on a free transfer.
Artur is out of contract at the Estadio da Luz this summer and has rejected the opportunity to sign a new deal to extend his stay in Lisbon.
The former Roma keeper joined Benfica from Braga in 2011 and has helped the club to win consecutive Primeira Liga titles, while they have also finished twice as runners-up in the Europa League.
Artur lost his No.1 spot to Brazilian compatriot Julio Cesar this season following his arrival from Queens Park Rangers, but the keeper still made 12 appearances, including three in the Champions League.
The 34-year-old, who has made over 240 appearances in his club career, is understood to be keen to move to England having already played in Brazil, Italy and Portugal.
The news has alerted a number of Premier League clubs, with Artur's representative, Alex Soares, confirming he has been contacted by two clubs about a possible move to England.
"I can confirm that enquiries on the player have been made, but no formal offer has been received yet," Soares told HITC Sport.
"I am sure that his situation will be resolved very soon as a goalkeeper with that much experience does not stay available on the market for long.
"The player really wishes to play in England and we are evaluating our options."
