A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester United.
Depay was announced as the club’s next signing recently, after an agreement was reached with PSV for the winger to move to Old Trafford at the start of the next transfer window.
Blind has suggested that Depay is going to be crucial for United in tight games next season.
“He is a player who can change games. He has a great free-kick, a great dribble, a great shot,” he said.
The Daily Star has reported that Manchester United will kick off the bidding war over Raheem Sterling with a £25 million offer to Liverpool.
The attacker has made it clear in recent weeks that he wants to move away from Anfield, with United reported to be an interested party.
It would be a bitter pill to swallow for the Merseysiders if their arch rivals managed to pull off a transfer.
Former Manchester United defender Dennis Irwin has been quoted by the Daily Mail suggesting his old team will benefit from a pre-season tour of the USA.
Irwin feels it’s a good move by Louis van Gaal, as part of the club’s preparations heading into next season.
He’s suggested that unlike last season, it will give the manager more time to work with his squad ahead of the new campaign.
“Last year he came in late because of how well the Dutch team did at the World Cup so it wasn't his tour in terms of preparation. This time he's been able to organise it himself, organise the distances we travel, where we stay, where we train,” he said.
