Midfield duo Fabian Delph and Adam Lallana missed England training at St George's Park on Thursday, as reported by BT Sport.
Roy Hodgson's England squad are preparing for the upcoming double-header against the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia, but neither Delph nor Lallana featured.
Lallana was given permission to miss training following the birth of his second child on Wednesday but is expected to join the rest of the 23-man squad later today.
Delph, on the other hand, was absent due to recovering from a minor injury he suffered in Aston Villa's 4-0 FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal. He underwent light training in the gym while being assisted by one of the England physios instead.
England will stay at St George's Park for the rest of the week before flying to Dublin to take on the Republic of Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday.
Seven days later they fly to Slovenia for their final 2016 European Championship qualifier of the season.
Hodgson's men are six points clear of second-placed Slovenia with five qualifiers remaining. A win will take them that step closer to qualification.
