Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Barcelona stars have all scored impossible goals.
Today is Papiss Cisse’s birthday, with the Newcastle striker turning 30-years-old.
Whilst struggling this season to show off his best form, the Senegalese forward scored one of the best goals in recent Premier League history a few years ago.
In the 2011/12 season, having moved to the Magpies in January 2012, Cisse scored 13 goals in 14 games as Alan Pardew’s side finished in fifth place.
His best goal came in a 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in May, when he netted both strikes - both of extreme quality.
The opener was a lovely turn inside the box before he volleyed the ball home, but it was the second which won all the plaudits - and numerous goal of the season awards.
An impossible strike from 37 years out, Cisse somehow scored from the touchline with a curving and dipping shot which defied the laws of physics.
It was a goal that no one could replicate in hundreds of attempts, and seeing that kind of impossible strike was a joy to behold.
To celebrate Cisse’s birthday, we commemorate his incredible 2012 strike and look at five of the best impossible goals ever scored.
