The Argentina international has scored an excellent 20 goals in 23 finals, coming out on the losing side just three times.

Barcelona are 90 minutes away from a momentous treble, with Juventus in the Champions League final the only obstacle to Luis Enrique perfect debut campaign in charge of the Blaugrana.

The Catalan giants have already sown up La Liga, while a 3-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final guaranteed a domestic double.

Lionel Messi has been central to the club’s fortunes this season, with the Argentine maestro again showing his class in the clash against Bilbao.

Juventus will know that if they are to stand a chance of causing an upset they will need to stop the four-time Ballon d’Or winner - but doing this could be easier said than done.

In total, Messi has played in 23 finals in all competitions since coming through the ranks at La Masia and into the Barcelona first team.

In these games, Barcelona have won 15, drawn five and only lost three, as per the club's official website.

Messi has been at the centre of this success, scoring an incredible 20 goals in the 23 finals.

The 27-year-old star will be keen to round off a stellar campaign with European glory before heading off to the Copa America this summer.
