Should Newcastle United-owned Haris Vuckic try to secure a return to Rangers?

St James Park

Newcastle United-owned attacking midfielder Haris Vuckic was a success at Rangers in the second half of the 2014-15 season.

Haris Vuckic is on his way back to Newcastle United after a loan spell at Rangers.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder joined Scottish giants Rangers from Premier League outfit Newcastle on a loan deal in the January transfer window.

Now that the loan deal has ended, Vuckic is expected to link up with his parent club, with whom he has a contract until June 2016 (according to Transfermarkt.co.uk).

It is safe to say that despite Rangers’ failure to gain promotion to the Scottish Premiership, Vuckic’s time at Ibrox was a success.

The youngster scored nine goals in 22 appearances for the Gers, helping them finish third in the ‘regular’ Scottish Championship season and then reach the Premiership playoff final.

Vuckic seems to have regained his confidence and rediscovered his touch at Rangers, and perhaps he should try to move back to the Glasgow outfit for the 2015-16 season.

The former Domzale youngster has shown that he can succeed in the second division of Scottish football, and his importance for Rangers will only grow if he plays a full season for them.

The Slovenian has been on the books of Newcastle since 2009, but he has not even managed to make 10 appearances in the Premier League.

It does not look likely that Vuckic will get a chance in the first team at Newcastle next season, and in search for regular football he should try to seal a return to Rangers this summer.
