Everton striker Romelu Lukaku reiterates desire to play in the Champions League

The Everton forward and comments from his agent are making Blues fans uncomfortable.

Romelu Lukaku has reiterated his desire to play in the Champions League to Sky Sports.

The Everton forward has recently linked up with super-agent Mino Raiola and his group of superstar clients, which includes the likes of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

His new representative has been very vocal of late in suggesting Lukaku should be playing in Europe’s top competition, in a move that not only angered Blues fans but left them worried about whether he may be considering his future at Goodison Park after a disappointing 2014/15 campaign.

The Belgian has heightened that fear now by stating that he agrees with his agent and saying, “you never know in football”, when asked about his future.

“Every player wants to play in the Champions League,” he said.

“Every player wants to play at the highest level. You have to be ambitious in life. That's the aim. That's something that he (Raiola) has the right to say and I support him in that, otherwise we wouldn't be working together. He's my agent for something.”

Lukaku joined Everton on a permanent deal last summer after enjoying a successful loan spell the season before, but endured a difficult second campaign on Merseyside, with his side failing to replicate their form from the year before.

He did, however, prove deadly in the Europa League, finishing with the competition’s golden boot to his name. He is now on international duty with Belgium and says he is in good shape preparing for the next round of international fixtures.

"I'm in great shape right now; I'm training well and scoring a lot of goals," he added.

"I'm doing my best and just trying to be better and try to measure myself with the best in the game and that is my aim for next season.”
